Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centred approach designed to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. At the Institute for Healthy Living, our therapists are highly skilled in using MI to empower clients, enhance motivation, and support meaningful progress towards their goals.
In MI sessions, therapists work alongside clients to uncover their reasons for change and address any doubts or barriers. For example, a client struggling to manage a habit might explore their goals and values, helping them find clarity and build confidence to take the next step. MI is non-judgemental, supportive, and focused on your unique needs.
