Key information you should know

  • A referral is not required to see a psychologist.
  • We are able to process your Medicare rebate on the day.
  • EFTPOS facilities are available.

Medicare rebates

You don’t need a referral to see a psychologist, but you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if your GP provides a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under item 2710. With a valid MHCP, we can process your rebate on the day of your session, and Medicare will credit the rebate directly to your registered bank account.

Current rebate rates:

  • Psychologist: $96.65
  • Clinical Psychologist: $141.85

Many private health funds also offer rebates for psychological services. Please check with your provider for details. Payment is required on the day of consultation, and EFTPOS facilities are available for your convenience.

Rates & fees

Our rates range from $220 for our psychologists to $370 per session for clinical psychologists.

The per-session fee with a psychologist range from $220 - $275 for individuals.

The clinical psychology fee ranges from $260 – $370 for individuals and $295 – $350 for couples.

Cancellation policy

Life happens, and we understand that sometimes plans change. However, to ensure we provide timely support to clients in need and respect our clinicians’ valuable time, the following cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 2 business days’ notice: No cancellation fee.
  • 1-2 business days’ notice: 50% of the session fee will be charged.
  • Less than 1 business day’s notice: 100% of the session fee will be charged.

Please note that cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Payment procedures

At the Institute for Healthy Living, we prioritise the security and confidentiality of your payment information. During the intake process, we securely collect and store your credit card details using encrypted systems that comply with industry standards. Your card will only be charged on the day of your session, ensuring a seamless payment experience.

For in-person sessions during our reception hours, we offer the option to pay via EFTPOS at the time of your appointment. If you prefer, we also accept direct deposit payments into our bank account—simply let us know prior to your session.
